Emily Wobb, a junior distance runner at Carnegie Mellon and a Pine-Richland High School graduate, left the country Jan. 26 to study in Ghana, but will have an opportunity to qualify for the Division III outdoor championships when she returns in May.
Carnegie Mellon University track and cross country coach Dario Donatelli is the first to point out that junior distance runner Emily Wobb is a unique individual. A Pine-Richland High School graduate and a junior at Carnegie Mellon, Wobb has run in two indoor meets this winter for the Tartans finishing first both times. (02/03/2012)
Porsche Poole scored a career-high 32 points and Michigan State rallied to beat No. 18 Penn State, 83-77, in Big Ten Conference action Sunday at Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich. Following a 28-point effort in a loss to Illinois, Poole was 10 for 15 from the field, including hitting three 3-pointers, for the Spartans (13-9, 5-4). Just ask Zeke Marshall, a 7-footer who has been taller than his peers throughout most of his life and was not-so-subtly pushed into playing basketball from a young age.
