West Allegheny star running back Mike Caputo sustained a serious ankle injury in the team's game against South Park Friday night, and his status for the rest of the season is in question.
Caputo, a senior and the Post-Gazette Player of the Year in 2009, dislocated his ankle in the first half of the game against South Park and was taken from the field on a stretcher. He was then taken to the hospital.
After the game, West Allegheny coach Bob Palko said "we'll know more in the morning."
Caputo already has made a verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin.
