Thanks for participating in the Penn State football Q&A.

Keep the questions rolling in and I will answer them throughout the season. Please remember to include your last name in submissions. You can follow the Nittany Lions daily here as well as my daily blog on Penn State football at PG-Plus. Membership in that site is only $3.99 per month or $36 per year.

One other thing -- my weekly live Penn State chats will take place Thursdays at 11 a.m.

Q: As a long-time Penn State fan, more than 50 years, I dread the thought of the Alabama game this year. With so many "new" players after losing a bunch of talent from last year plus having a "green" quarterback, I expect the No. 1 ranked Tide to crush the Lions. Am I wrong? I hope so. Thanks.

Matt Truskey, McKinney, Texas

MUSSELMAN: Penn State players have had the Alabama game on their minds for quite some time. Playing the defending national champions and No. 1 ranked team doesn't happen very often.

Whether the Nittany Lions will face Mark Ingram, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, remains to be seen. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Monday and is questionable for the Sept. 11 game in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

I understand your concern, Mark. It will be a tough place for one of Penn State's quarterbacks to make his first road start. And the Lions undoubtedly will be big underdogs.
