UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Nittany Lion mascot is in trouble with the law.
Clint T. Gyory, a Penn State junior, has been issued citations charging him with underage drinking, public drunkenness and criminal mischief as a result of an Aug. 1 incident in which he was celebrating his 20th birthday.
He has been suspended by the university from performing as the mascot for the month of September.
According to the citations, filed Aug. 24 by State College police, Gyory broke the rearview mirror off of a vehicle and crawled into the bed of a pickup truck, where he passed out.
His blood-alcohol content was .187.
He is facing fines totaling more than $1,000.
