U.S. Open top seed Caroline Wozniacki has won her third consecutive Pilot Pen title in New Haven, Conn., beating Russian Nadia Petrova, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The win is the second this week for the 20-year-old Wozniacki, who won Monday in Montreal. In the men's final, Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky won his second tournament of the year, beating Denis Istomin, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Seton Hill kicked off the season in Western Pennsylvania with a 20-14 home victory against Bowie State at Offutt Field in Greensburg. Quarterback D.J. Lenehan completed 12 of 20 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns. The winning score was a 21-yard pass from Lenehan to Tyler McIntosh.
