
What to do: Nearly 6,000 acres of wooded hills, the park includes 167 camp sites in two campgrounds, 11 miles of hiking trails and 1,200-foot sand and turf beach and six launching ramps on a 1,730-acre lake. The Nature Inn with upscale accommodations opens on park grounds in September. Easy to get to from Rte. 22 via I-99, Bald Eagle State Park is too often overlooked by Western Pennsylvanians.
