PG's Family Film Guide: "Inception"
Friday, July 16, 2010

The Post-Gazette reviews movies from a family perspective:

'Inception'

Rated: PG-13.

Suitable for: Mature high school students and up, although the material may be best understood or enjoyed by older moviegoers.

What you should know: Christopher Nolan, maker of the recent "Batman" blockbusters, directs Leonardo DiCaprio in a mind-bender about a man who can enter another's dreams and extract or plant information. It's a complicated movie that may require a second viewing to really understand it.

Language: About a half-dozen uses of profanity and another half-dozen mild expletives.

Sexual situations and nudity: A kiss or two and some smoldering glances.

Violence/scary situations: Lots, including fighting, the exchange of gunfire, suicide by a fall, a person wrongfully accused of murder, the death of an ailing man and the collapse of dream worlds, which can mean slow-motion explosions, rampages in the streets and other disturbing images.

Drug or alcohol use: Adults drink wine, beer or other alcoholic drinks.
