Princeton used a 17-3 run to end the first half of an opening-round game in the College Basketball Invitational for a 65-51 win against Duquesne in Princeton, N.J.
Douglas Davis came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points for the Tigers (21-8), who moved to 11-3 at home.
Damian Saunders led Duquesne (16-16) with 14 points. B.J. Monteiro and Sean Johnson added 10 each.
The Dukes jumped to a 20-11 lead as Princeton missed its first seven shots. Davis hit the first of three 3-pointers in the final 7:46 of the half to spark Princeton's run for a 28-23 halftime lead.
Duquesne, which shot 37 percent for the game, briefly cut it to one on a Melquan Bolding layup a little over two minutes into the second half before Princeton answered with another run to take a 13-point lead with 11:31 to go. Princeton maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
