The beacon atop the Gulf Tower in Downtown Pittsburgh will be glowing green tonight to mark St. Patrick's Day.

Managers of the landmark building on Grant Street said the display is meant to honor the many families of Irish descent in the area as well as Steelers owner Dan Rooney, the U.S. ambassador to Ireland.

The beacon will be green from dusk tonight through dawn tomorrow.
