The Andy Warhol Museum has announced the appointment of Pittsburgh native Bethany L. Tucke as deputy director. She began her affiliation with the museum Dec. 1, 2009.
Ms. Tucke was most recently a marketing and special projects consultant at Nike in New York City. She has more than 10 years of marketing, branding and consulting experience, and holds a dual degree in communications and psychology from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
For Nike, she generated and implemented marketing communications strategies for promotions, work on their artist product collaborations, special events and brand design.
She has been managing director for the New York office of Tomato, a London-based design agency, which took her on assignment to Europe and throughout the U.S. She's also sourced and developed partnerships with global companies such as Apple, BMW, Sony and Levi's.
Ms. Tucke also represented more than 20 film directors while employed at Curious Pictures, which produces live action, special effects, graphics and animations. She was business development director at D'Arcy & Partners, an agency that markets luxury, fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands.
Warhol director Tom Sokolowski said, "Since I have always stressed that The Warhol is a different type of museum, when searching for a new deputy director I looked for someone who could take us into our next 15 years of existence. Bethany Tucke is the perfect person to help us do so. Her experience working with commercial companies, creative artists and in film takes us into those realms where The Warhol has hoped to go."
