Britney Hodges scored a 3-pointer with 10.7 seconds left to lead fourth-seeded Saint Francis (Pa.) past top-seeded Robert Morris, 80-79, in a Northeast Conference semifinal game in Loretto, Pa.
Robert Morris senior Angela Pace sparked a comeback after Saint Francis took a 17-point lead in the second half. She finished with a career-best 30 points for the Colonials (23-8) and was 12-of-18 shooting with 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. She had her 500th career rebound to become the 16th player in Colonials history to do so and, at 5 feet 10, the shortest player to reach that benchmark.
Allison Daly finished with 24 points for Saint Francis (16-14), all on 17 3-point attempts, and Hodges scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers.
Long Island 61, Central Connecticut State 55: Chelsi Johnson scored 18 points to lead second-seeded Long Island to a victory against No. 6 Central Connecticut State (12-18). The Blackbirds (22-9) will play for the NEC title for the second time in three years.
