Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission trout stockings are under way on special regulations sections of streams statewide. The commission rescheduled yesterday???s stocking of Chest Creek near Patton for March 15. For a stocking schedule, visit www.fishandboat.com. Keystone Bass Buddy Circuit, one of the region???s largest tournament organizations, will have its annual kickoff from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the West Deer Fire Hall No. 2 in West Deer. Lake Erie: The creeks were starting to open up as of yesterday and two anglers released five average-size, spawned-out steelhead on jigs and single eggs in two hours on the mid-section of Elk. They had no bites on Elk???s lower reaches. Pymatuning Reservoir (Crawford County): Anglers were icing walleyes, including a reported 30-incher, crappies up to 15 inches and bluegills and perch in mixed sizes. Panfish were targeted off Jamestown Marina launch and walleyes near Westford and Orchard launches. Conneaut Lake (Crawford County): Morgan Douglas of Conneaut iced a 34??-inch, 9-plus pound northern pike while fishing with her father. Lake Wilhelm (Mercer County): Crappies and bluegills and a few largemouth bass were reported amid light ice-fishing pressure near Launch No. 3, the causeway and in "the stumps." Sizes were generally running bigger than in recent weeks. Lake Arthur (Butler County): Three nice bass around 20 inches were caught last weekend. Northern pike, crappies and catfish also were reported. Glade Run Lake (Butler County): Anglers were icing trout in recent days. Allegheny River: Good conditions were reported yesterday and the 13th Street launch was clear, although fishing pressure was low. Monongahela River: Water was an excellent color and level yesterday. Ohio River: Water was up slightly yesterday and shore anglers were landing walleyes at Dashields Dam. Dunlap Creek Lake (Fayette County): Anglers were icing recently stocked trout. Youghiogheny River: Anglers reported a slow bite Wednesday targeting recently stocked trout. High Point Lake (Somerset County): Fair ice fishing was reported with mostly small northern pike and chain pickerel reported. Northmoreland Lake (Westmoreland County): Anglers were icing trout in recent days. Glendale Lake (Cambria County): Northern pike were reported, along with chain pickerel up to 25 inches, crappies, bass and perch. Last week Ashlynne Brumbaugh, 4, caught a 16??-inch, 2-pound crappie fishing with her father, Frank Brumbaugh. Duman Dam (Cambria County): Small chain pickerel and trout were reported at this 21-acre impoundment. Lake Rowena (Cambria County): Limits of trout were reported in recent days. Spring Creek (Centre County): Low, clear conditions were reported and a few midges sighted yesterday. Streamers and nymphs were the best bet. Deep Creek Lake (Maryland): Anglers were icing perch about 12 inches and legal-size walleyes in recent days.
