This past week: Barker was a perfect 7 for 7 from the field in the Cavaliers' 49-48 WPIAL Class AAAA playoff victory against Central Catholic. Barker made five 3-pointers and led all scorers with 20 points.
Check this out: Barker leads Kiski Area in scoring this season, averaging 17.5 points per game. The Cavaliers will play Gateway in the WPIAL quarterfinals Saturday night.
Key to first-round win? It was basically defense. It came down to defense and heart -- what team wanted it more.
What will it take to beat Gateway? They're a lot bigger. We're going to have to take them inside and get them to play our game.
When did you start playing basketball? I've been playing all my life on AAU teams and throughout summers.
Who's the real Superman, Shaq or Dwight Howard? I would have to say Dwight Howard. He can jump really high and fly like Superman,
Favorite Winter Olympic sport? What's the one with the guns? I like that one.
Best movie you've seen in the past year? I really liked Avatar. That was a good one -- a little long, but a good one. Especially in 3-D.
People would be surprised to know that ... I volunteer to help at my church program called Kids' Quest.

This past week: Burak won the all-around championship in the Advanced Division at the WPIAL gymnastics championships Saturday.
Check this out: Just 14 years old, Burak has leaped to prominence as a freshman. In addition to winning the all-around title with 37.816 points, Burak also had an outstanding effort in the vault, taking first place with 9.783 points.
At what age did you start in gymnastics? I was 4 years old.
Did you think you would do as well as you did at the WPIAL championships? No, I wasn't expecting to do that well. But doing well in the vault gave me the confidence to do everything else.
You compete for USA Gymnastics as a Level 9 gymnast. What does that mean? USA Gymnastics is how you get into the Olympics. It starts at Level 1 and eventually gets up to Levels 9, 10 and then Elite. The Elite gymnasts are usually competing to be in the Olympics.
Do you think you'll ever reach the Elite Level? Hopefully one day.
Is there a gymnast you look up to or idolize? Shawn Johnson.
If you could have dinner with one person, who would it be? I would probably want to meet one of the former Olympians for gymnastics. Any one of them.
What's your favorite food? Either french fries or chicken.
