Thanks for participating in the Penn State football Q&A.

Keep the questions rolling in and I will answer them every day throughout the season. Please remember to include your last name in submissions.

You can follow the Nittany Lions daily here as well as my new daily blog on Penn State football at PG-Plus. Membership in that site is only $3.99 per month or $36 per year.

One other thing -- my weekly live Penn State chats will take place Thursday at 1 p.m.

Q: Ron, I am so tired of JoePa's same old excuses. Can't trust a true freshmen and we don't need a special teams coach. Maybe he hasn't looked over the college football landscape lately and looked at a lot of major programs using and succeeding with true freshmen in starting and critical roles. Will it ever change in Happy Valley?

Tim Hart, Clearfield, Pa.

MUSSELMAN: Tim, unfortunately Joe Paterno is not going to change his stance or his philosophies. He is almost 83 years old and has been here for 60 years as an assistant or head coach. His way has worked well for the most part. He has 392 career victories, making him the winningest coach in Division I-A, as well as a Hall of Famer. I agree Penn State needs a special teams coach, given the mess that has unfolded on the field this year, but don't look for it to happen under Paterno's watch. I would give you the same answer in regards to his reluctance to play true freshmen, although it seems to work for a lot of other schools.
