Family, friends and former students will honor the memory of Mario Melodia, iconic Pittsburgh teacher and mentor to many, at Sewickley Academy's Rea Auditorium at 2 p.m. Saturday. Memorabilia of his long-standing career will be on view, including video footage. Filmed tributes will feature Broadway director/choreographers Rob and Kathleen Marshall and Jeff Calhoun.

Point Park University's new dance complex has earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design LEED Gold, one of the highest levels of certification in the U.S. Green Building Council's building performance program. The complex is the first of its kind to receive LEED-NC Gold for new construction. The 44,000-square foot complex is designed to meet the artistic, health and safety needs of students and the professionals who teach them, including continuous air quality monitoring, lighting and temperature controls, sustainable wood floors, and low-emitting paints and carpeting.
