Q: One of the Oregon State players stated that win or lose Saturday, the Beavers would be looking to get JoePa's autograph after the game. I think that says a lot about how well he's regarded, at least on the West Coast?
Ben, Grants Pass, Ore.
MUSSELMAN: When you have been on one staff since 1950 like Joe Paterno has been, and you are in your 43rd season as coach, you become a celebrity, in a sense. I am not surprised that an Oregon State player said he wants Joe's autograph. Penn State has never quite reached its potential in the Big Ten, but Paterno remains popular and is one of the most recognizable people in the country.
