Estimated 2008 resident Canada goose population in Pennsylvania. The opening of new Canada goose-hunting seasons, recent coordination of seasons among states, and municipal goose-control programs have helped state wildlife management agencies and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to more effectively stabilize the growth of the Canada goose population. An early Canada goose season will open in Pennsylvania on September 1.
